FRIDAY FILM SCREENINGS

This week’s film screening is: Jack Reacher

In an innocent heartland city, five are shot dead by an expert sniper. The police quickly identify and arrest the culprit, and build a slam-dunk case. But instead of confessing, the accused man writes the words, "Get Jack Reacher." Reacher himself sees the news report and turns up in the city. The defense is immensely relieved, but Reacher has come to bury the guy. Shocked at the accused's request, Reacher sets out to confirm for himself the absolute certainty of the man's guilt, but comes up with more than he bargained for. Written by Anonymous

A great action thriller in the genre as a 24, or The Bourne Identity starring Tom Cruise. You need to know I’m all about story and this was a good story of corruption and a cover up. I was a bit long, but a good story always makes up for the loss of time. I enjoyed it beginning to end and I give it 4 stars.

TUESDAY SHOWING WORK

Welcome in to another TUESDAY SHOWING WORK. Today's post we are showing a little BTS of our second shoot w/ Model Ishmael Green. We shot on location taking the shoot to the street finding ourselves back at Empire Coffee to start. Always showing up early for a shoot and always having a project simmering on the back burner I found time to do some proof reading on a first draft of a screenplay I am working on #oscarwinner. And then when we got the whole team together, hair and makeup by Alexandra Pascasio, and Producers Kikuyo Chrysler & Tricia Hutchinson we took to shooting. Enjoy!

In between changes we styled the model in jewelry that Kikuyo makes by hand here we see her helping the Model Ish clasp one of her necklaces.

In a switch of modeling motivation switches her look up to a more pedestrian look, but still very cool.

Another great shoot, we can see the team coming together, maybe a few missing pieces still, but the collaboration to be working each time. So watch for the edited photos coming up on a future Thursday PHOTO SHOOT FRESH post. TUESDAY SHOWING WORK

This past week we had the opportunity to work on a project with a quick turnaround. From the ordering of t shirts and the day the project needed to be completed was a matter 5 days. In most cases a project like this would take 2 weeks. So once we figured out the design with a matter of sketches and discussions on the "look"' for the brand we set off to create the final design.

Then from the final design we created a transparency that will be used to burn the image into our screen creating the template to screen the shirts.

Come Saturday morning and the shirts would need to be completed for the next morning. At that point  we realized we were low on the color of ink needed to complete the project. After a few calls to my go to suppliers we found out that all of them were out of the exact color we needed, time to panic or time to improvise. Knowing color theory we tried to blend colors we had on hand to create other options.

In the end, we literally scraped by, as we got everything we could from what we had to fill the order. I think the whole process was a great learning experience and belief in the process as we created something that the customer was pleased with, customer approved. Lets Go!

FRIDAY FILM SCREENINGS

This weeks film screening is the WOODY ALLEN a Documentary.

Iconic writer, director, actor, comedian, and musician Woody Allen allowed his life and creative process to be documented on-camera for the first time. With this unprecedented access, Emmy-winning, Oscar-nominated filmmaker Robert Weide followed the notoriously private film legend over a year and a half to create the ultimate film biography. Woody Allen: A Documentary chronicles Allen's career - from teen writer to Sid Caeser's TV scribe, from standup comedian to award-winning writer-director averaging one film-per-year for more than 40 years. Exploring Allen's writing habits, casting, directing, and relationship with his actors first-hand, new interviews with A-listers, writing partners, family and friends provide insight and backstory to the usually inscrutable filmmaker.

I really, really enjoyed this film and much like the film addresses you can say what you want about the man’s life, but his body of work is unparalleled. I loved the day in the life look to this documentary and all the little snippets from actors, friends, producers, and so on who have worked with Woody. I thought it was a great film, great story, very entertaining I give it 5 stars.

TUESDAY SHOWING WORK

As we begin heating it up for the summer and the temperature rises we still have outdoor shoots scheduled we've found some interesting ways to beat the heat. At this shoot we found refuge from the 100 + degree day by ducking into a quiet little spot called Empire Coffee, which ended up fortunately doubling as the first location for our shoot.
With a little time before the shoot I again found myself sipping on an icy Yerba Matte to cool down, focus, and give me a little pep for the entire shoot. We chit chatted w/ Sara a very bubbly Batista who gave us the low down on this unique location.

That days shoot was w/ Model David Hollie, this was our 2nd shoot together and we all felt more comfortable working together and got some really great shots at a great location.

Here Producer Kikuyo Chrysler makes some adjustments to David's wardrobe as Producer Tricia Hutchinson snaps some behind the scene shots. We on point ...GO!!!

Here is an exuberant Model David taking flight for a shot, super cool.

Here we shot a few shots w/ Model David Hollie in Chaingang Apparel, as David is part of the up and coming groups campaign, we even shot video, which we'll post very soon.

Two days later things got hotter and it wasn't just the heat, as we held our second shoot w/ Model Rachel Lindsay fresh of her participation in the Miss Chico swimsuit competition, which she plans to continue training for the next competition in Oct/Nov. Keep up the work Rachel you are looking great as the photos show.

More behind the scenes shots of us shooting inside the interesting Empire Coffee.

And some how some way we ended the day w/ some great food and drink over at the Winchester Goose pulled into the same seating for some refreshing water, food, and a strong dark beer. That's a wrap. Thanks to my Producers Kikuyo and Tricia.
