They promised her that she will be free after ten years of service. So she begins her new life as a theatre actress. But soon two men Joong-sang and Hyun-soo appear in her new life. And she started to find deep dark secrets about her past. Eventually she take matters into her own hands. Written by Niaz Islam Arif  (Courtesy of Internet Movie Database)

I hadn’t seen a foreign film in awhile that really made me say WOW so my hopes for VILLIANESS were rather high. Upon watching it I found a story that at first I thought was very familiar, but as the film progressed I realized how wrong I was. I have found that Asian cinema was very good at combining emotional storylines with either action or violent imagery and VILLIANESS was just that. I also felt the way the film was shot was very dynamic and added to the entire film experience. So for VILLIANESS I give a solid 3.75 out of 5.

MY NETFLIX MOVIE REVIEWS #104

After suddenly losing all contact with his younger sister, Jacob King arrives in Los Angeles determined to track her down. Trying to piece together her last known movements, King finds unsettling evidence of a life gone off the rails - drugs, sex and secrets in the sleazy underbelly of the City of Angels. Undeterred by warnings to go home, King proves to be more than a match for the violence he is confronted with as he relentlessly pursues the truth about what happened to his sister. (Courtesy of Internet Movie Database)
MESSAGE FROM THE KING was a movie that took me by surprise. I had past over the film several times before actually taking the time to view the trailer. Upon viewing the trailer I was sold and ready to watch the film. These days it is hard for a film to stand alone meaning that the idea of the movie hasn’t been done before. For me, MESSAGE FOR THE KING reminded my greatly of the TAKEN films. This film being I felt a little less polished and or gritty. I loved that the man character was someone I could relate to and the performance of Chadwick Boseman was rather enjoyable to watch. So for MESSAGE FROM THE KING I give it 4 stars out of 5.

LAPD police officer Dayl Ward is the first human cop having the orc police officer Nick Jakoby as a partner. When Ward is shot by an orc and Jakoby does not capture the shooter, he questions whether Jakoby lets the fellow orc escape. During a patrol, Ward and Jakoby arrest a man that tells that there is a prophecy and Ward is blessed. Meanwhile, Internal Affairs press Ward to find the truth about the escape of the shooter so that they can fire Jakoby. The magic department of the FBI interrogates the man that belongs to the terrorist Shield of Light group and they learn that they are preparing the return of the Dark Lord that will destroy the world. Ward and Jakoby are summoned to attend a disturbance and they stumble upon a Shield of Light safehouse where they arrest the elf Tikka and her magic wand. Soon they learn that Tikka is hunted down by the evil and powerful elf Leilah and her gang and... Written by Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (Courtesy of Internet Movie Database)

BRIGHT for me was the first film that I felt Netflix pushed really hard and hyped it like most mainstream films. That said, it got my attention and I was glad I did. Set in a world that is familiar in some ways while drastically different in others made it for a fascinated and edge of your seat kind of feeling. I also thought this world needed a bit more back-story to help the viewer understand more of the context of the film. I also felt Will Smith’s performance was the Will Smith performance to be expected. In the end I think the biggest draw to this film is its unique story and how that story unfolds. So for BRIGHT I give it 4.5 stars out of 5.
