MY NETFLIX MOVIE REVIEWS #152
Aspiring actor Greg Sestero befriends the eccentric Tommy
Wiseau. The two travel to L.A, and when Hollywood rejects them, Tommy decides
to write, direct, produce and star in their own movie. That movie is The Room,
which has attained cult status as the "Citizen Kane" of bad movies. Written by

From the title THE DISATER ARTIST and the brief clips of the
film my mind was taking me in another direction as I prepared to watch this
film. Upon watching it my thoughts had me thinking this was going to end up
like a Friday night Dateline murder mystery, but to my great surprise it wasn’t.
What transpired before my eyes was a film showing someone going after their
dreams. Yes, maybe the approach wasn’t so well thought out, but in the end I am
sure all involved would agree it was worth it. So for this film based on a true story I give THE DISATER
ARTIST 3.75 of 5 stars.

MY NETFLIX MOVIE REVIEWS #151
Follows an old-money family still dealing with the death of its
youngest daughter several years later. While honoring the daughter's death, a
long con, an axe-wielding serial killer, and a vengeful ghost all coalesce in
the same night to target the family. Everyone in the family has a secret,
nobody wants to face what they did, and for someone to survive, the truth needs
to come out - sooner than later. Written by Tiboriyo (Courtesy of

DENENTIA 13 was film I was using as a study into the
filmmaking process based on its background of being originally written by Francis Ford Coppola. Upon watching it I was taken by its
location of this castle. The story seemed familiar, but at the same time it zig
where other film in its vein zagged. I felt it also could have been cast
better, but I doubt it would have made that much more of a difference. In the
end, I learned what I needed yet for DEMENTIA 13 I give it 2.75 of 5 stars

MY NETFLIX MOVIE REVIEWS #150
In the
year 2045, the real world is a harsh place. The only time Wade Watts (Tye
Sheridan) truly feels alive is when he escapes to the OASIS, an immersive
virtual universe where most of humanity spends their days. In the OASIS, you
can go anywhere, do anything, be anyone-the only limits are your own
imagination. The OASIS was created by the brilliant and eccentric James
Halliday (Mark Rylance), who left his immense fortune and total control of the
Oasis to the winner of a three-part contest he designed to find a worthy heir.
When Wade conquers the first challenge of the reality-bending treasure hunt, he
and his friends-aka the High Five-are hurled into a fantastical universe of
discovery and danger to save the OASIS. Written by Warner Bros.

From the trail READY PLAYER ONE looked like a smogi board of
pop culture and video game action sequences. I didn’t think it would be a film
I’d enjoy, but upon watching it much like anything Spielberg it came with a
great story that held through out the film. I also felt the level of gamer I
needed to be to understand this film wasn’t all that much there were even references
I could relate to. So for READY PLAYER ONE I give it 4 of 5 stars

In the
wake of an unknown global terror, a mother must find the strength to flee with
her children down a treacherous river in search of safety. Due to unseen deadly
forces, the perilous journey must be made blindly. Directed by Emmy winner
Susanne Bier, Bird Box is a thriller starring Academy Award winner Sandra
Bullock, John Malkovich, Sarah Paulson, and Trevante Rhodes. Written by Netflix (Courtesy of Internet Movie Database)
In all honestly I must say I didn’t take in BIRDBOX due to
all the hoopla surrounding the film. Yet at the same time the cut of the first
trailer I saw sold me on the film. Upon watching it I was transfixed watching an
extremely taut thriller. Of course at the same time I was being entertained I
did have some major questions that arose, which I felt the film did not address
that would have made the film that much more intriguing. So for BIRDBOX I give
it a 3.75 of 5 stars.
