Manji, a highly skilled samurai, becomes cursed with immortality
after a legendary battle. Haunted by the brutal murder of his sister, Manji
knows that only fighting evil will regain his soul. He promises to help a young
girl named Rin avenge her parents, who were killed by a group of master

I love me a samurai tale and in the case of BLADE OF THE
IMMORTAL it did not disappoint. Having seen several Takashi Miike films, and
this being his 100th, I feel this was a definite stand out film. As
this is content from a graphic novel I can see how it is part action, part
fantasy, and even part comedy. BLADE OF THE IMMORTAL even has the hero story
mixed in amongst the slashing samurai fight scenes that can take your breath
away. So for BLADE OF THE IMMORTAL I give it 3.75 stars of 5.
