FILM REVIEW: INCEPTION

So here it is, film review for Inception and if you still haven't seen it yet, DAMN, you need to get on it. Right now in my opinion its the best film out right now. Initially seeing the previews to the film left me wondering wtf it was about, but I knew I was gonna see it. I was truly the visuals that drew me in. Much like when the Matrix hit the scene, nothing up to that point could compare. This is the situation with Inception amazing visuals and a story like none other.

Inception takes place In a world where technology exists to enter the human mind through dream invasion, a highly skilled thief is given a final chance at redemption which involves executing his toughest job till date, Inception. Dom Cobb the skilled thief, the absolute best in the dangerous art of extraction, stealing valuable secrets from deep within the subconscious during the dream state, when the mind is at its most vulnerable. Cobb's rare ability has made him a coveted player in this treacherous new world of corporate espionage, but it has also made him an international fugitive and cost him everything he has ever loved. Now Cobb is being offered a chance at redemption. One last job could give him his life back but only if he can accomplish the impossible-inception. Inception was written and directed by Christopher Nolan of Dark Knight fame, produced by Christopher Nolan, with Leonardo DiCaprio as Cobb, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Arthur, and Ellen Page as Ariadne from Warner Bros. 2010 (Source imbd.com)

I must say I thoroughly enjoyed this film, it was a real adventure. When I've talked with friends and colleagues about this film I described why this film was so magical for me and its all about the layers. Layers that we get taken into that overtime delve us deeper and deeper into an existence in the film. So for example, the first layer we have to understand is the world that Cobb and his mates live in and all its possibilities. In this case its a place where people can enter dreams, so we must learn how that is possible and how it works much like the brief tutoring Cobb gives to Ariadne.

Next, is the layer of the idea of "Inception" what is it, how is it possible, what are the dangers? All of these questions come up as we find out through character dialogue that "inception" was thought of as impossible. Yet the further we move into the move film inception is not impossible, but very dangerous if not fatal. Layer 2.

The last layer I'll talk about is the dark past of Cobb. As the film reveals bits and pieces of who Cobb is we find that he may be the only one who can lead this bunch on this journey, but will his past devour everyone who follows along with him, Layer 3.

Now mix this all and a few other ideas that I didn't touch on, but are just as valid together, with a bit of action and romance WOW! Truly impressed with Inception and that's why I give it 4.5 stars.
