Resume

The following collages are photos from events I planned and executed to promote my brand and showcase local artists and fashion designers. I think there were 10 events in total over the years. This is where I learned a lot of my current event planning skills and worked with the community, all the while building my social media chops.

This was another of my numerous one-on-one shoots with a model who came out sensationally. I must say it is a joy working with models who are ready for shoot day, and in Rachel's case, she came with the right energy, on time, and with a great wardrobe that fit our location nicely, making the entire shoot memorable.

I had the opportunity to create a business card for a friend going into business for himself. Taking the opportunity seriously, I put in the work by listening to his ideas and, through mood boarding and looking at samples, helped me see his vision. After some time, I came up with this two-sided business card featuring handcrafted script and a two-color colorway. Ultimately, he seemed very pleased with the outcome and decided to use it on other parts of his branding system.

As a photographer, I have had the chance to work with numerous models, both male and female, and even now, as I look back at these images of models Reyna & Walker for the Able Abe Studios diy clothing brand, I look at it with pride at what I captured here. Ultimately, as much as I scheduled, scouted the location, and curated the looks for this shoot, the magic was in the chemistry and energy these models brought to the shoot, making it one of my more favorable series of images.

My Frida Big Race was a project I took on after my sister had her first child, Frida. I wanted to create something with her in mind, and as her Uncle, I could impart a bit of my wisdom to her, and what better way than a story that features her. I wrote the story, created all the characters, and put it into a YouTube video with my voice as the storyteller. If you want to see the completed work, you can go here. Frida's Big Race

This one was the most successful of all the Artist Interviews I did for my YouTube channel. The artist was named Daniel Beebe; we had met in doing the rounds as artists at art shows and other events. And when the idea struck me to try doing artist interviews, his name came up, and he was eager to participate. At that time, he had a studio here in Chico, which made it an ideal place to visit. We talked for some time, reviewing his life and background basics. Then we traversed his progression in styles of art he prefers, fatherhood, making a living, and relationships. To what he hopes his legacy will leave behind when he’s gone. I learned a lot that day about shooting and holding interviews and asking thought-provoking questions that drive a conversation. To this day, I find this shoot to be possibly the most fun. By this point, I had worked with many different businesses in town, and working on a shoot at BIG AL’S as a location in a “Roller Girl” themed shoot makes it memorable. All the coordination and planning made it a great learning experience. Then, creating and editing the images to create something that still stands up today is the most impressive to me.

The floor plan for the vacant Kmart building is more of a thought piece than anything, which shows my visualization skills to create something from something that doesn’t exist. In this piece, we reimagine what the vacant Kmart building on Mangrove and Pilsbury in Chico, CA, might be turned into to help serve the community. It would compartmentalize a restaurant featuring healthy items, plus a salad bar with ample sit-down and eating areas indoors and outdoors. An art walk, a climbing wall, and a yoga/exercise floor. A place to get rejuvenating fluids, sleep pods, and a dance floor. The magic factor about this place would be its access to the sun, with massive sun roofs letting in the beautiful sunlight. We call it Health is Wealth, a Wellness Emporium.

At the point of attempting this monogram, I had only attempted it once before in my school days. Having been so long ago, the challenge was to create one for myself. I wanted something with somewhat of a modern feel, a handwritten sensibility, and to bring me into the 2000s

The Cyber Genie Instagram carousel came to me as I was dealing with being scammed. I didn't know what to do and had all these feelings of frustration, even anger. So I took all of those feelings and put them to work. I wrapped those feelings into this Cyber Genie idea, which patrols the internet, fights scammers, and gets people's money and digital assets back while at the same time directing them to do as they should by contacting the real pros.
