In TRIPLE 9, a crew of dirty cops are blackmailed by the Russian
mob to execute a virtually impossible heist. The only way to pull it off is to
manufacture a 999, police code for "officer down". Their plan is
turned upside down when the unsuspecting rookie they set up to die foils the
attack, triggering a breakneck, action-packed finale filled with
double-crosses, greed and revenge. Written by Open Road Films
Having been waiting on the next great police drama I had
hopes TRIPLE 9 would bring it like TRAINING DAY or THE DEPARTED. Upon watching
it I felt the storyline and the cast of characters were very strong, but still felt there were
some things still missing to take it to the level of aforementioned films. If you
ask me without giving away too much of the plot twist I think it could have
been a bit more dramatic making the steps leading up a whole lot more tension
filled. So as for TRIPLE 9 I give it 3 ½ stars.
