MY NETFLIX MOVIE REVIEWS #107

Linguistics professor Louise Banks leads an elite team of investigators when gigantic spaceships touchdown in 12 locations around the world. As nations teeter on the verge of global war, Banks and her crew must race against time to find a way to communicate with the extraterrestrial visitors. Hoping to unravel the mystery, she takes a chance that could threaten her life and quite possibly all of mankind. Written by Jwelch5742 (Courtesy of Internet Movie Database)

As a fan of the sci-fi flick I felt ARRIVAL was a good example of an alien close encounter done well. I say that because it played on the fear of an alien attack world wide, but it was more about life and communication that anything. I also felt the approach they took to explain, or show that, was rather smart. It was also a rather moderately paced film that grew on you and before you know it you caught up. Another thing likeable about this film is that it kept away from many of the clichés that usually come along with films of this genre. So for ARRIVAL I give it 4 stars of 5.
