MY NETFLIX MOVIE REVIEWS #188

SMALL CRIMES is a delightfully suspenseful, blackly comic tale that follows a disgraced former cop, fresh off a six-year prison sentence for attempted murder, who returns home looking for redemption but winds up trapped in the mess he left behind. (Courtesy of Internet Movie Database)

With no new Netflix screening selected, SMALL CRIMES was chosen by the brief preview I watched upon looking for something to watch. Once I started to watch, I was intrigued by wondering how this film would play out. With ideas of redemption and second chances for the main character an ex-cop fresh from prison being thrown around, which made for an exciting premise. Throughout the film as well, we were introduced to diverse characters, which made this film dark and slightly comedic. As the story unfolded and tense situations became tenser, we were brought back to this idea of redemption, which made me more mindful of this film's message. So for SMALL CRIMES, I give it 3.5 stars of 5.
