MY NETFLIX MOVIE REVIEWS #169

Molly Bloom, a beautiful young Olympic-class skier, ran the world's most exclusive high-stakes poker game for a decade before being arrested in the middle of the night by 17 FBI agents wielding automatic weapons. Her players included Hollywood royalty, sports stars, business titans, and finally, unbeknownst to her, the Russian mob. Her only ally was her criminal defense lawyer Charlie Jaffey, who learned that there was much more to Molly than the tabloids led us to believe. From the trailer of MOLLY’S GAME, a film about backroom high stakes poker games would be quite entertaining. Upon watching I was hooked, and whether it was because it was based on a true story, the way it was told or the cast I found MOLLY’S GAME to be a great selection. Come to the end of the film and the credits began to roll I saw it was written and directed by Aaron Sorkin and it all came full circle realizing the movie I just watched was done by one of Hollywood’s great writers. So for MOLLY’S GAME, I give it 4 stars of 5.
